Comments: Broilers vary significantly in intensity, thus the wide range of cooking times in this recipe. Choose asparagus no thicker than 5/8 inch for this recipe. Putting the garlic through a press ensures that the pieces are very fine. If you don?t own a press, mince the garlic to a paste with a knife.
Ingredients:
1 Tablespoon oil, olive
1 to taste salt and pepper
1 Tablespoon ginger root minced
3 Tablespoons oil, sesame, dark

Directions:
Adjust an oven rack to the uppermost position (about 4 inches from the heating element) and heat the broiler. Toss the asparagus with the oil and salt and pepper to taste, then lay the spears in a single layer on a heavy, rimmed baking sheet. Broil, shaking the pan halfway through to turn the spears, until the asparagus are tender and lightly browned, 6 to 10 minutes. Serve hot or warm.

Whisk the scallions, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, lime juice, and honey together in a small bowl. Arrange the asparagus on a serving platter. Drizzle the vinaigrette over the asparagus and serve immediately.
